Caryn Siebert serves as VP — National Director, Carrier Engagement at Gallagher Bassett with a focus on business development and strategic initiatives.

Ms. Siebert has more than 25 years of claims, legal, risk management, and process improvement expertise. Caryn brings her unique, industry-leading perspective to GB and those she assists. She has been a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Claims Officer, and General Counsel to third-party administrators (TPAs), carriers, and self-insureds.

Caryn has spoken on various panels regarding leadership issues, complex claims and litigation, diversity and inclusion, and insurance trends. She is a member of the Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Steering Committee at Gallagher Bassett, co-leading the Corporate and Social Responsibility subcommittee. Most recently, in recognition of her significant contributions, creative approaches, and impact across the industry, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) honored Caryn with the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2023, she won the WorkCompCentral Comp Laude® Philanthropy Award after being a finalist in 2022 and 2021 for the Comp Laude Award in the Leadership category. In 2020, she was the recipient of both the Rising Insurance Star Executives (RISE) Mentor of the Year award and the Professional Females in Risk Management (ProFIRM) community service award, recognizing her support of industry women and causes. The National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association (NRRDA) recognized Caryn’s commitment to advancing the common interests of legal and claims professionals in the retail and restaurant industries by presenting her with the 2019 President’s Award. She was the 2017 CLM Litigation Management Professional of the Year and the West Coast Casualty 2017 Ollie Award recipient. She was featured as a Woman to Watch winner by Business Insurance magazine in 2010 and authored a chapter in Words of Wisdom from Women to Watch in 2016 entitled “Hear Me Roar,” and discusses mentoring, paying it forward, courage, and succession planning.

Based in Orange County, California, Caryn is responsible for strategic initiatives and business development in the national property and casualty carrier marketplace as well as public entity/risk management. She brings with her a focus on workers’ compensation, construction defect, auto, complex liability, and other products, excellence in customer service, risk management, and mitigation of financial and reputational exposure. Caryn continues her active role in industry-facing events, organizations, mentoring/coaching, and presentations. In 2023, she was appointed to the AIRROC Advisory Council and earned her Certified Legacy Professional (CLP) designation and conducts mock interviews at Cal State Fullerton’s School of Risk Management and Insurance.

Her presentations at CLM conferences are well received and include discussion regarding diversity and inclusion, technology in the world of workers’ compensation, reptile theory and rising jury verdicts, and alternative fee arrangements in construction claims.

In addition, she’s on the Transportation Executive Council for the CLM Claims College. She has been an instructor at RIMS, Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI), National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC), Public Agency Risk Management Association (PARMA), CCLF, and NRRDA.

She also chaired the Combined Claims Conference (CCC) from 2010 to 2020 (with CCC naming an award in her honor commencing 2022) and is involved in other nonprofits such as Kids’ Chance, RISE, and Give Kids the World, paying her knowledge forward, helping others be successful, and contributing financially to the community.
